About Us

Hindiba Studio was founded by Bülent Baydar in Munich – born from the idea of combining culinary culture, craftsmanship, and design.

As the son of Turkish parents, born and raised in Munich, Bülent Baydar developed a passion for art, design, and taste early on. This curiosity for aesthetics and materiality initially led him into the international fashion industry. For many years, he worked there as a buyer – including for the internationally renowned label Helmut Lang. His intensive engagement with design, quality, and craftsmanship still shapes the philosophy of Hindiba Studio today.

The idea for Hindiba Studio originated from a personal memory:
Even as a child, his mother regularly brought olive oil from Turkey – from the region around Lake Bafa, where almost exclusively Memecik olive trees grow. The oil of this variety has an unmistakable, herb-accented taste that remains memorable to this day.

From this experience developed a passion for genuine, unadulterated products – first for olive oil, then for gourmet food in general.

Since 2018, Hindiba Studio has been gradually building a curated assortment that brings together high-quality food, handcrafted products, and design from Europe, Turkey, and Japan.

The selection follows the idea of Slow Food and Slow Design: products with clear origins, made by small producers, often using traditional or nature-friendly production methods, and with a special focus on quality, taste, and materiality.

At the end of 2020, Hindiba Studio's store finally opened in Munich – a place where culinary art, craftsmanship, and design come together.

The name Hindiba means dandelion in Turkish. It symbolically represents the spreading of ideas and inspiration – a metaphor for products that find their way to people naturally.
